Librivox

I've gotten involved in an interesting project.  Public Domain Audio Books.  You should really check this out. It could be the next thing--and I'm not just saying that because I'm involved. I would really like this to take the internet by storm. The idea is to take an public domain book and have volunteers read and record a chapter and then podcast the book chapter by chapter.  Librivox's first book is The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad.

Oh, I love the secret agent! Can I do an audio commentary on it? Did you know that the Unabomber had it on his bookshelf? Have you seen the Hitchcock film of it? I even know the real historical figure who inspired the Professor in it!

How cool you know it. This was the first time I had ever heard of it or seen it. I have not read more than my chapter--I'm waiting for the others to finish reading their bits so I can hear it unfold.

Hitchcock?? Never Knew. Guess I may have seen it an not realized. Hmm thought I knew his stuff.

I'll ask the director of the project about the audio commentary thing--I think it's sounds cool.

I had librivox once, in chili. Got real sick to my stomach. Sick for days. Won't be trying that again any time soon.
